Asheville Independent Restaurant Association Board of Directors Election

The annual elections for the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association (AIR) were held this morning. Not an overly exciting process except for the fact that these folks are committing to this role for the next two years of their life. Meeting at least twice per month and sometimes more, chairing at least one committee and sometimes more, assisting with AIR events and leading a non-profit organization successfully in the worst economy in recent times. By the way, when I say leading an organization - I'm talking about leading around 45 independent restaurants (and growing) with entrepreneurial owners and chefs - all with their own ideas and their own businesses to run - and keep them all heading within the organization in the same direction and with the same purpose. Oh . . . and the Directors do this while running their own business successfully as well!

As I was saying when I began this post . . . the annual elections were this morning. AIR has another strong Board of Directors to take the organization into and through 2010.
