The North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville

The North Carolina Arboretum is a beautiful place to step into nature and explore. Its convenient to visit about nine miles from downtown Asheville off Brevard Road / NC 191 S (map it). It costs $6.00 per car to enter, but you have as much time within the Arboretum as you want that day. Once you enter the drive meanders into the property on a picturesque road to the parking lot for the Baker Exhibit Center. This is the main visitor's center with maps available to take self guided walks.

This is my first visit to see the bonsai exhibit with dozens of unique specimens on display. This is an outdoor exhibit so plan for a nice day when you visit. See pictures of the bonsai and other nature shots from the Arboretum at the AshevilleFoodie Web Album.

This is definitely worth your time to visit.
