Jessica Gualano has opened the Wine Studio in Asheville at 169 Charlotte Street across the parking lot from the Charlotte Street Grill & Pub (they share the parking lot). I met Jess through the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association where she is an Associate Member and has been attending meetings regularly. First starting out as a wine consultant and then organizing Girls on Grapes prior to opening the Studio, she has kept herself very busy.

Girls on Grapes is still an active women's wine tasting club that meets at the Wine Studio. Jess states that the group "is based on the premise that the more we know about wine (and the more we taste it!), the more enjoyable our hobby becomes". What a great way to learn more about wine and meet like minded people!

The Wine Studio is becoming the neighborhood wine shop and hang out for the Charlotte Street area. They carry a nice and varied assortment of wine from which to choose along with select beer choices. You can actually make requests of them to carry specific items if you plan on being a regular at the Studio. Also available are cheeses, glassware, decanters and a few other associated items that come in handy.
Offering regular tastings (usually 5 wines for $5.00) Jess is all about teaching through tasting. And if you find an item you like, you can buy it to take home or open the bottle and enjoy it right in the Studio. She also hosts weekly tastings that support local charities and is becoming an integral part of our local charitable fund-raising. She gives back - to the community, to charity, to each person who walks through the door. This is a must visit place!
There is much more to learn about Jessica and the Wine Studio so make your plans to pay her a visit soon. Her hours of operation are:
Tuesday - Saturday: 11am - 8pm
Sunday: Noon - 5pm
