444 Gallery Cafe - Asheville, NC

My wife introduced me to 444 Gallery Cafe this week. She has been there a few times and insisted that I go with her - I wasn't disappointed.

When entering you walk through a small gallery featuring many items made by local artists to the counter in the back where to order your meal.  The Gallery/Cafe is small but inviting with a wood floor and a nice selection of locally made items.

While the menu is small, the food was prepared perfectly. We both had Belgium waffles with bacon along with coffee for me and decaf for my wife. The breakfast was served in a plastic basket lined with waxed paper. The plastic ware, cups and much of what is used is compostable items.  The commitment to being Green and to the local economy.

I loved their coffee which is from Dynamite Roasting Co. near Black Mountain, North Carolina.  Dynamite supplies artisan roasted 100% organic coffee.  There is a choice of two styles of coffee that I understand rotate from day to day along with decaf available.

WiFi is available for free and a power strip lines one wall in order to power guest's tech toys.  Since you might be inclined to sit a while at times, please note that the chairs are wooden yet comfortable in which to sit.  The atmosphere is enjoyable and the staff are friendly.

This Cafe is not yet part of the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association, but a good candidate for them to call upon.
