Old Fashioned Sugar Cream Pie Recipe

This was always one of my favorite pies when I was growing up in Berne, Indiana.  Unfortunately, you can't find it any where but the mid-west.  Over the years I forgot about this delicious pie until Mom made it for Thanksgiving recently.  What a treat!  It was like finding an old friend all over again.  So I asked Mom for the recipe and here you are.

Pie Recipe:
9" Pie Crust (make your own, see separate blog or purchase from store)
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Flour, all purpose
1/2 tsp Cinnamon, ground
1/4 tsp Salt
2 Cups Heavy Cream

Mix all the dry ingredients together.  Add heavy cream and mix well.  Pour mixture into pie shell.

Preheat oven to 450°.  Bake pie at 450° for 10 minutes.  Reduce heat and bake pie for 50 - 60 minutes at 350° or until browned and toothpick comes out clean.

This pie is a bit sweet, but it's a nice sweet way to end any meal.  Especially if you live in the mid-west.
