Petition to Recognize the Burgundy Region of France as a World Heritage Site

Aubert de Villaine is heading a proposal to have the Burgundy region be recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, a designation which would serve to protect the region from development which does not benefit or could harm the wine making traditions there.

I think this is a pretty noble cause.  If you feel strongly about Burgundy, please be certain to add your name to the roster (see below for the link).

An idea of this ilk was pushed around in the Mosel valley some years ago but nothing came of it. Now, right in the middle of that beautiful wine making region, a gargantuan bridge is being built which is a horrid eyesore and will undoubtedly have an effect on the microclimates as their sun exposure will change.

Below is the link to the site where you can vote to have Burgundy become part of the World Heritage sites. The site is in French so these are some basic tips on how to vote: open the site and go to "Soutiens", then go to the green section where it says "Inscrivez-vous et remportez peut-ĂȘtre un des nombreux lots mis en jeu", fill the spaces as indicated taking into account the following:
Nom = family name
Prenom = first name
Code postal = zip code
Commune = city name
Pays = country

Don't forget to press "Valider" at the end.

Please feel free to forward this information to any person that may be interested.
