Parmesan Crab Dip Recipe

I started thinking about crab cakes and getting hungry for them.  But a funny thing happened at the store.  I don't know why that statement occurs so often for me when I'm shopping for food.  It does, its OK (if my wife isn't with me!) and I always end up with food of some sort.

I realized that all I wanted was a snack and besides company is coming over tonight.  I can hit two birds with one stone!  Have a snack and get a head start on what I need for this evening.  Some how crab dip came to mind while I was on this new food adventure and I didn't have a recipe.  Alrighty then, I'll make it up as I go - this recipe is the result.  I like it and I hope you do as well.


Ingredients
8  oz.  fresh crabmeat, picked through and finely chopped
1/2 cup  Mayonnaise
1/2 cup  Parmesan Reggiano, fresh and finely grated
1/2 tsp  Chili Sauce
1/4 tsp  Garlic, fresh and finely minced
1/4 tsp  Black Pepper, freshly ground
1/8 tsp  Sea Salt
Dash  Chinese Five Spice

Directions
This is an easy recipe to make.  Combine all the ingredients above and mix well.  It is ready right away but try to let it stand in the refrigerator for an hour or two before serving.  Grate a little parmesan over the top before you set it out.
Serve on your favorite cracker or bread.  For a twist, spread the dip on 1/4 inch slices of sour dough bread, sprinkle freshly grated parmesan on top.  Put in the oven long enough to melt the cheese and slightly brown.
